“My Uttarakhand, Addiction-free Uttarakhand” Campaign in Rishikesh & Narendranagar – 8th Oct, 2019

Rishikesh and Narendranagar, 8^th October, 2019 : “My Uttarakhand, Addiction-free Uttarakhand” campaign reached Rishikesh and Narendranagar today. The awareness program on Drug De-Addiction was organized by the centre of Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya situated at Rishikesh and Narendranagar with the support of Medical wing, Brahma Kumaris.

Rishikesh : The campaign started with the candle lighting and Dr. Hair Om Prasad, President of IMA was invited as a chief guest. Mr. Roshan, President of Rishikesh Municipality was also invited as one of the guests.

All the guests appreciated the effort and initiative made by Brahma Kumaris Medical Wing to make India and all the states free from addiction by spreading the awareness through this type of campaigning.

BK Meera bahen (Senior Rajyoga Teacher from Delhi) explained the ill effects of drug addiction and also explained how it helps one to give up one’s addiction.

Narendranagar : “My Uttarakhand, Addiction-free Uttarakhand” campaign then reached Narendranagar. The awareness program on Drug De-Addiction got organized in Narendranagar Municipality Community Hall by the centre of Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya situated at Narendranagar with the support of Medical wing, Brahma Kumaris.

Mr. Rajendra Vikram Singh Pawar, President of Narendranagar Municipality, was invited in the program as a chief guest. He said that once upon a time he also used to be addicted to smoking when he used to take about 60 cigarettes a day, but before 8years he gave up this addiction. And that is the reason he came to this stage to say something on this addiction. He admitted that drugs are now reaching to youths of Narendra Nagar area also and so the awareness is the requirement. There are so many schools and colleges situated in Narendranagar and the students need to make aware of all this addictions.

BK Dr. Sachin Parab (National Coordinator of Addiction Free India & Director of Global Tobacco Awarenes – Brahma Kumaris, Mumbai) delivered his speech with the research data and statistics of drug abuse in Uttarakhand and how they are entering into youths. He also explained that how much it is affecting the society and if it can’t be controlled in present time, then what can be the hazards.

BK Amit Biswas (Counselor, Psychologist and NISD Trainer from Kolkata) addressed to the people of Narendranagar and said that just knowing of the ill effects of the addictions are not enough to make anyone to get rid of addiction but they need to empowered from within in order to transform their will into will power and this can be achieved easily through Rajyoga Meditation. Rajyoga not only helps in getting rid of addiction but also teaches the art of healthy and happy living which is the core requirement of everyone’s life.

B. K. Dr. Rambabu (Retired – Director Health Services – Uttar Pradesh) proposed the vote of thanks and shared his experience.
