Brahma Kumaris

Established in 1937, Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya is now a well-respected institution, as its spiritual wisdom and teachings of moral ethical values provides a life-long learning to people of all ages and all walks of life. Over the years, it has received international acceptance and recognition for its service to humanity. Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya is affiliated to the Department of Public Information (DPI) at the United Nations as a non-Governmental Organization (NGO). It holds a general consultative status in the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and consultative status in UNICEF of the United Nations. It is also a recipient of 7 UN Peace Messenger Awards.

The parliament of the Republic of Mauritius has recognized Brahma Kumaris as a University. The Common Wealth of Russia has granted official recognition to this Spiritual University. Mohanlal Sukhadia University of Udaipur, Rajasthan awarded the honorary degree of D.Litt. to the late Rajyogini Dadi Prakashmani, Administrative Head of Brahma Kumaris. Gitam University of Andra Pradesh hounoured its present Chief Rajyogini Dadi Janki and Gulbarga University of Karnataka honoured its Joint Chief Rajayogini Dadi Ratan Mohini with honorary doctorates.

In order to accomplish its aim of re-establishment of moral and spiritual values in the society, Brahma Kumaris undertook various service projects from time to time and a sister organization named “Rajyoga Education & Research Foundation” was born. The foundation created 20 wings for the services of various segments of the society such as Administrative, Art & Culture, Business & Industry, Education, Jurist, Medical, Scientists & Engineers, Women, and so on. As times goes by, the Medical Wing is becoming more active and widespread.
