Dehradun 6 October. Launching ceremony cum Inauguration program of “My Uttarakhand, Addiction-free Uttarakhand” campaign was organized at Subhash Nagar, Dehradun, the main service center of Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya.

BK Dr. Banarsi Lal Shah Ji (Secretary of Medical Wing, Brahma Kumaris from its Headquarter – Mount Abu) said that the main reason of addiction is stressful life. Relieving tension is easily achieved through RajYoga meditation, consequently drug de-addiction becomes easily feasible and achievable. RajYoga is such a magic that the heart artery of 10,000 patients got opened. Within 7 days of the practice of Raja Yoga brought the sugar control in the patients. He invited all the doctors to the National Conference of Medical Wing which is going to be held in Mount Abu from 21 to 24 November 2019. He conveyed the good wishes of 104-year-old Dadi Janki ji, the Chief Administrator of Brahma Kumaris and expressed her good wishes to make the Uttarakhand free from addiction.

Respected Acharya Shiva Prasad Mamgai (President- Chardham Development Council) said in his blessing that he is present in Char Dham with the objective of stopping the addiction. He reminded that the nectar emanating from the sea churning was fed by the gods and the wines were drunk by the demons. Children learn bad habits from their elders. It is possible to get rid of intoxication from the spirituality of Brahma Kumaris.

BK Dr. Sachin Parab (National Coordinator of Addiction Free India & Director of Global Tobacco Awarenes – Brahma Kumaris, Mumbai) shared experiences and information regarding addiction with the members of the congregation. He said that intoxication is not bad, positive enjoyment of life should come from positive intoxication. Schools and college children and young people need to be protected. A strong will is needed to avoid addiction and to prevent it. The Brahma Kumaris organization is promoting positivity – constructivity – spirituality – Rajyog Meditation lifestyle at the level of village-town-school-college. He said that for the next 30 days, this campaign along with his entire team will serve to bring awareness among the entire Gadhwal region. He made the congregants to take oath that they will always abstained from drugs and give such inspiration to others.

Dr. B. K. Sanjay (India Book of Records holder, Dehradun) emphasized all-round health. He said that if there is health, there is hope. We all have the responsibility to repay the social debt. Drugs are the main cause of road accidents and deaths from them. Habits occur in childhood, so it is important to avoid childhood addiction. He pledged his full support in this campaign.

Dr. B.K. Ram Prakash (In-charge – Medical Wing, Punjab Zone, Brahma Kumaris, Hisar) narrated that many siblings have got rid of drug addiction by adopting the RajYoga way of life style taught by Brahma Kumaris. He called upon everyone to contribute auspicious resolutions of 5-10 minutes daily to make this campaign a success.

Brother Ashok Kumar (ADGP Law and Order) appreciated the war of the modern era disorder – Drug addiction. He gave the statistics of Uttarakhand and said that Alcohol is on the top of addiction and every 2nd person is under its influence. Narcotic drugs are enormously spreading in youths. Total population of Uttarakhand is about 1 Crore and out of which 1.7% i.e. 1 Lac 70 thousands of people are using drugs in different forms. He then added that in small crimes like stealing, chain snatching etc., in 50% of this types of crimes, the drug addicts are involved. In rape cases also, mostly the culprits are drug addicts. Drugs has become one of the world’s largest organized crime. It is necessary to interrupt both the demand and supply of drugs. He also said that the poor children should be educated, not begging.

Dr. Sanjay Kumar Goyal (President – IMA) requested that Indian cinema is a very large, comprehensive and influential educational institution in India which should avoid the spread of drugs.

BK Manju Didi (Subzone Incharge – Brahma Kumaris,) first welcomed everyone and pledged to make this Devbhoomi (land of Deities) free of addictions like beedi, cigarette, alcohol, etc.
